Suicide in Black Community

Suicide is commonly seen as something that occurs in the "white community". Unfortunately it has been on the rise in the black community and because it is not seen as a problem, people of color are afraid to find counseling and answers to their problems. The "Suicide Prevention Resource Center" reported that suicide was the third leading cause of death for black americans between the ages of 15 and 24. This hits fairly close to home, and the statistics encompass many characteristics of people in my own community. Here are more statistics from the "Suicide Prevention Resource Center". http://www.sprc.org/library/black.am.facts.pdf
